Trek Highlights

This is one of the most beautiful peaks in Ladakh with an altitude of 6400m with basic technical skills. The summit offer spectacular views of Karakorum and Zanskar ranges.

Day 1: Leh : Shang Sumdo (5 hrs)
After breakfast at hotel we start driving from Leh to Shang sumdo. Enroute we visit Thiksay and Hemis monastery. Hemis is the biggest and richest monastery in Ladakh. After visiting the monastery we drive towards martselang our starting point where we will met with the pony man and other crew. We start walking towards Shang Sumdo (3700m). Overnight in tented camp.

Day 2: Shang Sumdo - Lartsa (6-7 hrs)
From Shang Sumdo the trail ascends towards Lartsa village for some time and reaches Lartsa through village Chogdo after crossing the river.

Day 3: Lartsa – Base camp via Kongmaru La 5200 m
After a good breakfast we start ascend towards Kongmarula 5200m which offer beautiful views of Karakuram and Zanskar ranges. Descends from the pass and arrive at summer pasture land of people from Markha village. From Nimaling we follow the trail up to the base camp of Kangyatse 5300m. Overnight in tented camp at base camp where you will enjoy the delicious food, which you never had at this altitude.

Day 4: Rest day at base camp and prepare for next day

Day 5: Base camp - Summit (6400m) – Base camp (13-14 hrs)
Today is very challenging day for us. We start climbing around 1 am in the morning and it took us around 8- 10 hours to reach on the summit of Kangyatse 6400m.The view from the summit is just awesome. Because of high altitude we cannot spend much time on top, we descends to the base camp 5300m and rest.

Day 6: Base Camp - Chuskirmo 6-7 hrs
We start walking from base camp after our last breakfast on 5300 altitude. Climb Kongmarula and descends towards chukirmo village. Over night at chuskirmo.

Day 7: Chuskirmo-martselang - Leh 4-5 hrs
Last day of our trek starts with easy descends along the river and arrive at martselang where a car will be waiting for us to drive back to Leh after visiting Stok museum.
