Trek Highlights

This trek starts from Phyang and finishes at Hunder. The Nubra valley lies to the north of Leh. The Nubra valley means valley of flowers and the valley is situated at an average altitude of 3200m above sea level. The main attraction in this valley is sand dunes, double hump bactarian camel, monasteries and driving from highest motorable road in the world 18380 ft. Nubra was part of the old central Asian trade route known as silk route along which trade from Yarkhand in central Asia and Mongolia was carried out in ancient times.It is often referred as the orchard of Ladakh. In the middle of the trek you will have the opportunity to meet with local people who are staying with their group of sheeps, goats and yaks.

Day 1: Leh - Phyang - Phyang phu (4 hrs)
We will drive from Leh to Phyang village. Before start walking towards phyang phu, we will visit phyang monastery which is build on small hill in the 16th century by king Tashi namgail. After visiting the monastery we walk to phyang phu.

Day 2: Phyang phu-base of Laserm la 4700m (4-5 hrs)
After breakfast, we start walking towards base of Lasermo La 4700 m and it 4-5 hours. Overnight at base of Lasermola.

Day 3: Base of Lasermo - North base via Lasermola 5400m (6-7 hrs)
We start quite early in the morning to cross the Lasermo Pass Pass (5400m). The pass offers a panaromic view of Shayok valley and Indus valley. The trail from the pass towards our campsites passes rough moraines.

Day 4: North base - Hundar Dok (5 hrs)
Today, most of the time, we will be walking along the Hundar stream. On the way we have the opportunity to meet with the local people from Dok village with their group of Yak, Sheep’s and cows. Overnight at hunder dok.

Day 5: Hunder dok- Skarchen (5-6 hrs)
We will pass through the villages of Dok Gongma, Dok Yokma and Wachan.

Day 6: Skarchen- Hunder (4-5 hrs)
After breakfast we start walking towards hunder. We visit hunder village, deskit monastery and then drive back to Leh.
