Matho


Day 1: Spituk - Zinchen (4-5 hrs)
We start driving from Leh in the morning to Spituk village around 7 km and start hiking to our first camping village Zinchen 3600m through a dry and barren land. Arrive Zinchen in the afternoon and rest of day for explore.

Day 2: Zingchen - Rumbak (3-4 hrs)
After breakfast enter Hemis national park and ascends towards Rumbak village through a beautiful gorge.

Day 3: Rumbak - Mankarmo via Stok La (5 –6 hrs)
Today we walk gradually at the beginning but the trail becomes steep near the Stok La 4900m. The pass offers beautiful views of surrounding mountains and Indus valley. We descend from the pass towards Mankarmo (4200m) where we will camp for the night.

Day 4: Mankarmo - Matho Phu via Matho La (5 hrs)
Today we start our trek with gradual ascends towards Matho La 4850 m, which offers a panoramic view of Stok Kangri 6121 m and Matho Kangri 6100 m. The trail from the pass is easy and offers colorful mountains.

Day 5: Matho Phu - Matho (3-4 hrs)
After a good breakfast we start walking through a gorge and arrive at Matho village. We visit Matho monastery, which is, build on hill. After visiting the monastery we explore the Matho village and drive back to Leh.
